Bottom line: Meck. County owns 24 acres in Third Ward. County swaps that parcel for five acres next door owned by Wachovia and Mass Mutual. Then Mass Mutual gets property several blocks away, in city-owned Marshall Park, where Spectrum Properties would build a mixed-use project.
The revenue from that project would used to buld the new CMS headquarters, which sounds good in theory......
But help me out here: Would that leave Wachovia as the sole owner of the property on which the Knights would a stadium? It seems like Mass Mutual is part of a straight-up deal, so I'm confused about how the third parcel comes into the picture.
